GSF Selected for Jimmie Johnson Helmet of Hope

August 02, 2010 by Victoria Strong

We are so, so excited! We just received news from the Jimmie Johnson Foundation that the Gwendolyn Strong Foundation (GSF) was selected for this year's Samsung Helmet of Hope!!! We are absolutely honored to be part of this wonderful project and beyond thrilled that more people will now hear about Spinal Muscular Atrophy -- SMA -- and our mission to END it!

Each year the Jimmie Johnson Foundation selects 10 charities focused on children's needs. Selected charities are then awarded a $10,000 grant and will be featured on Jimmie's helmet for the Nascar Pepsi 400 race. AND...charities and their mission will be highlighted in press conferences throughout the year! Amazing!

Thank you so much to Jimmie Johnson, to the Jimmie Johnson Foundation, Samsung and Lowe's for selecting GSF and SMA as one of your causes!!! And thank you so much Mr. Johnson for being so philanthropic and using your celebrity to do so much good. (You may remember Jimmie Johnson previously endorsed support for GSF during the Chase Community Giving contest.)

(And if you don't already know...Jimmie Johnson is the reigning 4-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion and 3-time Brickyard Winner!)
