Birthday, Check Up and Christmas Walk

Today is Gwendolyn's 26th month birthday! Hooray! We sang Gwendolyn's favorite song (Happy Birthday to Gwendolyn) and are heading out for walk to get a special birthday balloon!

Yesterday afternoon we went to our awesome pediatrician office to get the second dose of the H1N1 vaccine and the first dose of the RSV (Synagis) vaccine. We are now fully vaccinated for H1N1 and will go every month for the RSV shot until RSV season is over (last year it lasted until April). Gwendolyn did very well -- was tearful, but quickly recovered and, as always, forgave both Mommy (for taking her) and the nurse (for administering the jabs).

Thankfully (and knock on wood), we haven't been to the doctor in ages and so I was eager to get a new weight for our heavier-by-the-minute big girl.

26 months = 26 pounds
And TALL = 37 inches

Then in the evening we bundled up and went downtown to see all the lights at the La Arcada Christmas Walk. Gwendolyn was excited to be going out at night, loved all the twinkle lights, noticed every detail of every decoration, and was floored when Santa came ho, ho, ho-ing around the corner. He was a pretty popular fella, so we nixed the photo op and instead gave him a wave and headed to a romantic and delicious dinner at Jane.

'Tis the season and it really feels like it!
