| $10,000 Granted to Critical Online SMA Support Network | $10,000 Granted to Critical Online SMA Support Network

In June 2010, theGSF made a $10,000 grant to, a critical SMA online patient and family networking resource. Started in 2008 by Maryland based nonprofit Emminea, SMAspace has filled a massive void in access to actionable information and support for patients and families impacted by SMA.

An SMA diagnosis is completely life-altering for families, impacting every aspect of one's life. Through SMAspace, Eminnea has created an open, unbiased forum for families and medial professionals to share information and theGSF was excited to help support their plans to continue innovating the SMAspace experience. By providing immediate access to critical care information, allowing those impacted by SMA to find support from others in varying stages along the same path, and providing the opportunity to connect with SMA experts, collectively these resources provide a higher quality of life for the thousands impacted by SMA.
