SMA Awareness Month: Challenge Number Two.August 08, 2011 by Victoria Strong
Way to go on Challenge Number One. Keep up the great work. You guys are doing an amazing job spreading the word about SMA and what we at the Gwendolyn Strong Foundation are trying to do to change it. Our Facebook Fan Page is growing every day, reaching new people, thanks to you!!!
Challenge Number Two is geared to those impacted by spinal muscular atrophy, but with the hope that through this coordinated effort we can define SMA for those new to the fight. GSF created the "This is SMA" campaign as a way to try to show what this disease really is and all year long on our Facebook Fan Page we post photos, stories, and videos of the good, the bad, and the reality of SMA. So, challenge number two is:
Post a photo of yourself or your loved one impacted by SMA on the GSF Facebook Fan Page. This is open to all ages, all types, all angels and all warriors. The point is to give a face to those three letters. Be sure to upload a picture (not just tag us) -- that way anyone can see your photo and description.
- In the caption write the name, age (or angel dates), and one or two things you want others to know about you/your child. Example: "This is SMA and this is Gwendolyn. She is almost 4 years old. She loves adventure, playing with friends, and spending time with her horse pal."
We can't wait to see all of your images. Together we can end SMA -- ONE person and ONE dollar at a time!
