Flag Flown Over U.S. Capitol in Honor of GwendolynOctober 17, 2009 by Victoria Strong Our friends have done it once again. We are humbled, excited, and so honored by the thoughtfulness, generosity, and kindness of the people in our lives. Unbeknownst to us, a flag was flown over the United States Capitol in honor of Gwendolyn on her second birthday! Yes, this building where all 535 members of Congress convene. How unbelievably cool is that? Of all the millions of folks in the country, our sweet G was honored on October 4th -- her special day.
The flag arrived this week, boxed nicely and with an official government stamped certificate!!! We opened it confused, stunned, speechless. We got our super sleuth detective skills out to figure out who could have done such an awesome thing. The certificate said:
At the request of the Honorable Dina Titus, Member of Congress, this flag was flown in honor of Gwendolyn Strong's 2nd Birthday on October 4, 2009 and her courageous fight against SMA.We googled Dina Titus and learned she is the U.S. Representative in Nevada's 3rd District, which is Las Vegas. And, so can you guess who did this???
That's right -- Reagan...and her unbelievable, awesome, stupendous, so-very-lucky-to-have-in-our-lives parents, Heather and Wade! We love you guys and thank you for doing this!
And thank you Representative Titus for recognizing our little girl!
I told you we'd get to DC somehow
