Kismet Kindness

November 11, 2010 by Victoria Strong
Don't worry -- we are doing okay. It's funny how sometimes just venting brings relief. And we are definitely feeling encouraged and supported by your kind comments and emails -- THANK YOU! And yesterday we received the most wonderful packages from four different very special friends. It is amazing that just at the point we needed a little love, it arrived from four different people. Kismet. One package was an early Christmas pressie for Gwendolyn that looks super neat and was super generous. She hasn't opened it yet, so more on that later, but the thoughtfulness immediately made me cry. Another package contained three adorable books written for Gwendolyn by three junior high students. She loved them!!! I cried. Then another package contained handmade cards for Gwendolyn, some birthday and some just because, decorated by darling elementary students. She loved these, too. I cried again. And the fourth package contained a very first art project by a very special little girl -- a gift to Gwendolyn!!! She loved this as well and yep, once again I got all throat lumpy. But, it was healing. To feel surrounded by such positivity and kindness always lightens the load.

We have had some very big stressors (non-SMA) over the last month. And, well, we were starting to feel like we can only handle so much. But, life does move forward and when we are the recipients of such goodness in the world, it helps fill up our floaties and, suddenly, swimming becomes a lot easier. And already today we feel the buoyancy of so much kindness, so much thoughtfulness and so much support. Thank you so very, very much!

Talk About It

Any acts of kindness or words of encouragement are easily forthcoming because you guys are just so amazing and giving and it's easy to support you, through thick and thin. I am one of the people who know about the other stressors of this month, and always know...you always have done the kind and right thing for everybody whose lives you touched!

Checking in to see how you were al doing today, and happy to see you posted. Venting is always helpful, and I so understand the need to do it and it helps to deflate the siutation if only for a bit. Hoping you have a quiet evening reading all Gwendolyn's new books to her. Enjoying your time together in peace. Keeping you in prayers. --Mari

Just always know that all our love, support, prayers, and constant thoughts and positive energy are constantly surrounding you - but you must take care of and be kind to yourselves too. Take a well-deserved breather and rest a bit. SO MUCH love to the 3 of you.....

Taking care of yourself is so very important. We all worry about you because we are amazed and touched by your family. Take a step back and go into self-preservation mode for a bit if need be. We'll be here for you when you get, we're not going anywhere. grin

You are well-deserving of ALL good things that make you throat-lumpy smile Hope the other stresses ease up a bit, and soon.... 'Lucy'
